Grand Canyon Rim to River

I ran to the bottom of the grand canyon and back up in under 6 hours. I also decided to do it the day before after a 10 mile hike since I was already there. And I ran 48 miles the preceding 5 days.

Look how fresh and happy and confident I look. bwahaahaha

Pics or it didn’t happen. Down South Kaibab and up Bright Angel Trail. Basically the strategy is you zoom down south kaibab to the water station at phantom ranch. I chugged some water and refilled, then cross the colorado again back south and get to indian gardens. Repeat with chugging water and refilling. Race to the top and catch the shuttle back to your car at the visitor center.

My hands became concerningly swollen too, never had that happen before.

I am v tired in this photo. If you zoom in you can see the salt deposits on my shirt. I bet I can do it in under 4 hours. 6hrs is so out of shape for 16 miles and a mile in elevation.
