Half Dome: Better than no Dome

Cables are down and stoke is high. I did this trip with my high school friends Darrell and Michael one weekend before moving across the state. Definitely a good way to end my time in Reno before moving to the degenerate city of Las Vegas. Enjoy.

Note: when the cables are down you do not need permits. However it is a good idea to bring a harness, gloves, and prussik to safely ascent the cables.

Note on the Note: when people say the “cables are down” they really just mean the poles that hold up the cables. So the cables are literally “down” on the rock, but they do not remove the cables.

Enjoy the following photos, which are in no particular order.

I have always wanted to hangout in the cave underneath the diving board. If you look down in certain sections there is nothing but air until you see the valley below. Its wild to be in a cave and the wind is pushing up from below. 10/10 cave hang. Would recommend.
